A plant based nice cream made with just few ingredients.

I am such a fan of Hemp seeds! They are rich in healthy fats and are a great high-quality proteins and minerals source. I use them as a topping on smoothies or soups, and quite often I blend them to make a dairy-free cream or as in this case to make smoothies and ice creams.
A plus for me is that I can easily find Hemp seeds produced either in Switzerland or in Europe, because I usually make an effort to limit my use of imported products (the bananas here are coming from Spain, which is the closest country I can get them from).
This recipe is faster if made as a smoothie, but if you have more time, you can put the blend in the freezer to obtain a thicker consistency, like an ice cream, as in my picture.
Hemp Nice Cream
Equipment
- (high-speed) blender
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup hemp seeds, shelled
- 1/2 cup frozen rice milk
- 1/2 cup rice milk
- 2 frozen bananas
Instructions
- If possible, take out the bananas and the frozen milk out of the freezer 5 to 10 minutes before preparing your nice cream. Mix all the ingredients in a blender. Adjust the thickness according to your preference: add some more rice milk or water to obtain a smoothie or put it in the freezer for another 30 minutes for an even harder consistency.
- Sprinkle with berries or granola.
